May saw practical completion achieved on Ropemaker, which was delivered exactly on programme and, at £170 per square foot, £10m under budget, for long-term client British Land. The integrated Mace Group team provided project management, construction management, cost consultancy (Sense) and a fixed price organisation and logistics service (via Mlogic).
Mace Group project director Jonathan Foster signed the practical completion certificate after a four and a half hour site inspection and handover documentation review meeting with client British Land and tenant teams. The new commercial office building is currently 40% let to Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi and a further tenant announcement is expected shortly.
Mace Group board directors Gareth Lewis and David Grover received the following messages of congratulations from the client:
Head of developments Nigel Webb said: "I understand PC has been achieved today on programme and in budget. What a fantastic effort by your team who should be rightly proud of their efforts and achievement. Many thanks to you and your team."
Head of construction Richard Elliott added: "Congratulations. The real team effort displayed by all involved from Mace, Arup and the trades is an excellent example of how a project should be carried out. Please pass on my thanks to all the Mace people involved."
